🌐 External Services

Xrate connects to a single external service:

ExchangeRate-API

api.exchangerate-api.com - to fetch current exchange rates

This connection only downloads exchange rate data. No personal information or browsing data is sent to this service.

⚙️ How the Extension Works

When you select/highlight text on a webpage, the extension checks if it contains a currency value

If a currency is detected, it fetches exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API

The converted amount is displayed in a tooltip

We do NOT sell, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not collect user data, so there is nothing to share.

Since we don't collect personal data, there is no personal data at risk. Your local preferences are stored securely in your browser's built-in storage system.

Xrate does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
